NON-EMPLOYEE STUDENT TRANSFERS
 
The non-employee student transfer window for the 2009-10 school year is closed. 

Transfers may be approved for students to attend a school outside their attendance area.  The parent/guardian must be a resident of Stafford County, and the student must reside with the resident parent/guardian. Student transfer requests are considered based on school, grade level, and classroom capacities and/or program or curriculum availability. 

The student transfer request MUST be based on one of the reasons specified in Policy 2103, Student Transfers
Transportation for transfer students is the responsibility of the parent/guardian.
 

When to Apply:

The transfer applications must be submitted to the requested school between March 1 and August 1 for the following school year.

RESIDENT EMPLOYEE STUDENT TRANSFERS
 
Children of part-time or full-time SCPS employees who reside in Stafford County may be allowed to attend the school where the parent works, the school nearest to the employee’s work location, or a school outside their attendance area based on one of the reasons specified in Policy 2103, Student Transfers.  If a student transfer is approved, transportation for the transfer student is the responsibility of the parent/guardian.
 
 
How To Apply:

Full-time or part-time resident employees should complete Part I of the Student Transfer Application: SCPS Employee form and submit via email (through GroupWise) or fax as indicated on the form. To submit the form via email (Groupwise), complete the fillable form online and save it to your Desktop.  You can then attach that file to the email you submit to the Office of Demographic Planning.  If the reason for the request requires additional documentation, submit those documents with the transfer application.  If the reason for the transfer request is child care, the parent/guardian must complete and submit the child care verification form.

NONRESIDENT EMPLOYEE STUDENT ENROLLMENT
 
Children of full-time, licensed instructional SCPS employees who do not reside in Stafford County may be allowed to attend the school where the parent works, the school nearest the employee’s work location, or a school outside their attendance area based on one of the reasons specified in Policy 2103, Student Transfers.  If a student transfer is approved, transportation for the transfer student is the responsibility of the parent/guardian.
  
Admission is based on an annual application.  Employees with nonresident students currently enrolled in SCPS must submit a new application each year. 

 
How To Apply:

Full-time or part-time resident employees should complete Part I of the Nonresident Student Enrollment Application and submit via email (through GroupWise) or fax as indicated on the form. To submit the form via email (Groupwise), complete the fillable form online and save it to your Desktop.  You can then attach that file to the email you submit to the Office of Demographic Planning.  If the reason for the request requires additional documentation, submit those documents with the transfer application.  If the reason for the transfer request is child care, the parent/guardian must complete and submit the child care verification form.

RESCINDING A TRANSFER
 
The parent/guardian may rescind an approved student transfer so the student can return to his/her base (assigned) school. The parent/guardian should complete the Student Transfer Rescission form and submit it to the school the student is currently attending.
