  Students Working to Advance Technology

The SWAT Team is a special club of students who advance the level of technical skills while assisting other students and teachers with their computer needs.  Duties and Responsibilities include:

Teacher Internet Team:  saves time for teachers by conducting needed research to enrich classroom studies.  One student is assigned per class, teachers request research.  Students may need to do some work on home computers.  Members will gather internet research for teachers based on a predetermined request form.  Will learn how to capture media from the web and either print to a paper format or save it to a media such as a flash drive or CD to give to requesting teacher.

Computer Buddies:  assist the school's younger children over the hurdles of computer learning.  Students leave base class to assist other students.  Students will be assigned to a specific class to do this job for 45 minutes every three weeks.  Students are responsible for making up missed assignments in their own classrooms.

Multimedia Unit:  develops multimedia programs, using programs such as PowerPoint, GarageBand, I-Photo and I-Movie for teachers and students.  Students will provide low level hardware support at WCES, which may consist of changing ink cartridges to replacing old network cables or even installing updated drivers.

Post Office Crew:  will deliver, pick-up, sort, and work with the mail that other students, staff, and parents send to each other at Winding Creek Elementary.  There will be a daily pick-up and delivery.  Students will work between 8:30 and 9:00 a.m.
